Hello, my name is Michael Rushton, and I am a Flight Instructor in Hilo Hawaii during the winter months (October through April). During the summers, I fly climbers and tourists in ski planes from Talkeetna, Alaska to glaciers on the side of Denali (Mt. McKinley).

I do tailwheel endorsements, spin training endorsements, flight reviews (formerly called BFR’s), photo flights, etc. in my Cessna 140 from the Hilo Airport. I also do primary (Private Pilot) through Instrument Instructor training. Because my plane is a taildragger, it is the best to start with when learning to fly. It is easier to transition from tailwheel to nose wheel than vice versa.

I also offer introductory flight lessons (no experience necessary [for you]). Hawaii is an excellent place to fly where you will often see volcanoes, waterfalls, and humpback whales. You can take photos, and I’ll snap some shots of you actually flying the plane. This is much more fun and personalized than an air tour. Great gift idea!
